How to Make Good Use of The Shortwave Infrared Lamp


We recently received some queries that many of our end users bought our Shortwave infrared lamp, but they are worried how to use it to get a desire results.


This article gathered some of our users doubts, and we try to give them so advice on how to make goods use of our Shortwave infrared lamp.


Follow Manufacturers Guideline:

Refer to the Shortwave infrared lamp's user manual and the paint manufacturer's guidelines. Different paints may have specific curing requirements, and the Shortwave infrared lamp settings should align with these recommendations.


Practice on Small Areas:

If you're new to using an Shortwave infrared lamp for car painting, consider practicing on a small, inconspicuous area before tackling the entire car. This allows you to familiarize yourself with the process and achieve optimal results.

Monitor Curing Time:

Keep an eye on the curing time. More curing or less curing can impact the quality of the paint finish. Follow the recommended curing time based on the paint specifications.

Maintain the Right Distance:

Place the Shortwave infrared lamp at the recommended distance from the painted surface. This distance ensures that the heat is distributed evenly for proper curing. Typically, it's advisable to keep a distance of about 30 to 45cm.


Move the Lamp Strategically:

If you're working on a larger surface, such as the side of a car, strategically move the Shortwave infrared lamp to cover the entire painted area. This helps in uniform curing and prevents uneven drying.


Ensure Proper Ventilation:

Adequate ventilation is essential when painting and curing. Work in a well-ventilated area to disperse fumes and ensure a safe working environment.


Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

Wear appropriate PPE, including a mask and gloves, to protect yourself from paint fumes and chemicals.
